5 Great Movies That Would Stir Emotions In You

I compiled 5 movies that have moved me, stirred emotions in me, made me think and have helped me become more open to viewpoints coming from different angles.

Most of them I’ve watched with my sister, boyfriend and group of friends and with every film I have felt myself be more open, loving and creative and I hope it does the same to you.

Feel free to watch when you just want to chill at your hotel, or have a movie night with your best friend/friends. No matter the situation you’re in –  a movie night is always great when paired with pizza, some chips and wine!

1. Silver Linings Playbook

It’s my favorite movie to watch when I just want to have a good laugh! The storyline is amazing; it’s funny, a bit psycho and oh so romantic. I mean everyone’s crazy in their own way… and to find someone that gets your crazy, makes you a better person and loves the real you -you can’t tell me that’s not what everyone’s looking for. And besides you can never go wrong with Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro; they’ll make you laugh, make you cry, make you think and make you believe in love.

“After losing his job and wife, and spending time in a mental institution, Pat Solatano (Bradley Cooper) winds up living with his parents (Robert De Niro, Jacki Weaver). He wants to rebuild his life and reunite with his wife, but his parents would be happy if he just shared their obsession with the Philadelphia Eagles. Things get complicated when Pat meets Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence), who offers to help him reconnect with his wife, if he will do something very important for her in exchange.”

2. Refuge

We were winding down after a long day of relaxing – ha. that didn’t sound right. Anyway, my sister and I wanted to watch something before we slept and she ended up choosing this film; mainly because we love Krysten Ritter; her spunk is the main reason we watch her shows. The movie ended up being pretty good – It’s an indie movie about life, love and family in a small town. It’s not as intense and dramatic as you may think. Also, I’m a sucker for life movied and if you are too… this is an interesting one.

“A college dropout (Krysten Ritter) struggles to take care of her young siblings after their parents inexplicably abandon them.”

 3. Across The Universe

The ratings for this movie doesn’t give any justice to the amazing work it truly is;it should have been, in my opinion, a box office hit instead. If you’re a beatles fan and you haven’t watched – are you really a beatles fan? but you know what they say better late than never, so get going and watch the movie ASAP! If you’re not a beatles fan, you should still watch this… the beatles songs are of course timeless; you’ll definitely appreciate their songs because the remake that they made and the actors in the film who sung their songs did such a great job. It’s truly a work of art – so much creative process and effort that went into the film. The storyline is really great too; we all need love. Invite your friends over and have pizza and wine ready or just buy some a small bottle of wine and order pizza for one and enjoy the movie – dance to their songs and let yourself be pulled by all the emotions that their songs evoke within.

“The songs of the Beatles provide the sonic framework for this musical tale of romance, war and peace. When young British worker Jude (Jim Sturgess) sets sail for the United States in search of his father, he ends up meeting carefree college student Max (Joe Anderson) and his lovely sister, Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood), along with a cast of eccentric characters. As Jude and Lucy fall for each other, their relationship is threatened by the social upheaval that accompanies the Vietnam War.”

4. Beatriz at Dinner

This is a movie that would stir up so much emotions in you and stimulate both your emotional and logical side. It will make you ponder on questions like: What really matters? What do you value? Are you being a kind human being? And how do you think a healer and an empath should approach a situation like this?

Also, Salma Hayek was absolutely exceptional in her performance in this film and so was John Lithgow.  It’s a movie that is definitely worth watching even on your own.

“Beatriz is a Los Angeles massage therapist and holistic healer who drives to the seaside mansion of her client Cathy. When her old Volkswagen breaks down, she receives a friendly invitation from Cathy to stay for a seemingly innocent business dinner. As the guests arrive and the wine starts to flow, Beatriz finds herself in an escalating war of words with Doug Strutt, a ruthless real estate mogul who cares more about money than people.”

5. The Hitman’s Bodyguard

Are you a fan of Deadpool? I think Deadpool was brilliantly made and this movie is just like that only – Ryan Reynold’s look hotter, Samuel L. Jackson adds to the comedy and Salma Hayek’s beauty and fierceness is in the film. The action scenes are pretty impressive, the guys are just so in love with the woman in their lives and Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson’s funny mixed together is just too much to pass on. It’s a movie you won’t regret watching!

“The world’s top protection agent is called upon to guard the life of his mortal enemy, one of the world’s most notorious hit men. The relentless bodyguard and manipulative assassin have been on the opposite end of the bullet for years and are thrown together for a wildly outrageous 24 hours. During their journey from England to the Hague, they encounter high-speed car chases, outlandish boat escapades and a merciless Eastern European dictator who is out for blood.”

I hope you guys enjoy watching these movies!

Message me on which one you loved and why and which one you really didn’t like and why. I’d love to know what you guys think!
